Self-Efficacy for Research: Development and Validation of a Comprehensive Research Self-Efficacy Scale (C-RSES)

This study aimed to develop and validate a comprehensive research self-efficacy scale (C-RSES) measure the of both graduate students academics in any discipline. Data were gathered nationwide Turkey from 1301 researchers including academics. Exploratory factor analysis revealed 28-item C-RSES with six factors, namely Literature Review Research Problem, Discussion, Analysis, Plan, Ethics, Conceptual/Theoretical Framework. Confirmatory supported proposed structure. Factorial invariance across males females was shown. Cronbach’s alpha reliabilities for subscales ranged .85 .94, which indicates high internal consistency scores obtained scale. Additionally, using multivariate variance, without Ph.D. compared regarding their aspects. The findings provided evidence validity reliability C-RSES. It is suggested that promising
